In March 2011, we launched our mobile library project, Words on Wheels (WoW) in Hanoi, Vietnam.
In line with our focus on education as a key area for our CSR efforts, WoW was conceptualised as an affordable and
convenient avenue to bring a library, internet and multimedia facilities access to village children.
Equipped with English and Vietnamese storybooks, computer terminals with internet access as well as educational games and
toys, WoW reaches out to 10 different villages on a rotational basis every weekend. Volunteers from Keppel Land are also roped in to conduct interactive storytelling sessions to these children.
In December 2011, Keppel Land led a team of Keppelites from across the Group, joining our Vietnamese colleagues on a WoW volunteer trip to Chuong My District, Hanoi, Vietnam. 15 Keppelites and 11 local volunteers from Keppel Land Vietnam's team from International Centre and Sedona Suites Hanoi bonded with over 150 children from Dai Yen Primary School, engaging and interacting with them over arts and crafts, story-telling and outdoor games.
